Police Briefs – Saturday, July 16, 2016

A collision involving a parked car on Orangewood Blvd. near Irene Cres. in Chatham is the result of impaired driving.

Police say the man behind the wheel had rear ended a parked car on the side of the road.

Total damages are estimated at about $20, 000.

A 25-year-old Dresden man has been charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit.

Police are investigating the theft of a 2004  Pontiac Sunfire.

Police say the vehicle was taken from a residence on Gray St. sometime between July 14 and July 15.

The vehicle is described as white with Ontario licence plates AZLZ 475.

A few break and enter investigations are on the go in Chatham.

Around 4:30am on Saturday, an unknown suspects broke into a business on Keil Dr.

Police say the suspects took five bottles of liquor worth about $200 and caused about  $300 in damages to the building.

Police say sometime between July 14 and July 15 an unknown suspect broke into a garage on King St. W.

A number of automotive tools have been stolen.

Police say about $3,000 worth of tools has been stolen from a trailer at a business on Richmond St.

They say it’s believed to have happened sometime between July 14 and 15.

Police are currently looking for suspects
