Police Briefs – Friday, July 15, 2016
Chatham-Kent police say a man who stole a Nike golf club from the Sportchek on Grand Ave. W in Chatham and fled the store on an e-bike is facing charges now.
Officers say the man stole the $200 club at around 11:30am on Thursday.
Police were able to use video surveillance from the store to identify the suspect and later arrested him.
He’s charged with theft and possession of stolen property.

Police are looking for tips from the public after someone caused about $200 damage to one of the doors at Crabby Joe’s on Grand Ave. W in Chatham.
Officers noticed the damage when they were responding to an alarm call at the restaurant shortly before 2am Friday morning.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

A 24-year-old Chatham man is charged in connection with his role in a two-vehicle crash on Richmond St. near Inshes Ave. at about 8pm last night.
Police say no one was hurt, but the damages are estimated at $11,000.
