A Chatham woman spent the night in jail after her house party got out of hand.

Chatham-Kent police responded to a noise complaint at a Chatham residence around 12am Sunday.

They say the homeowner told officers a party at her house had gotten out of hand. After guests left, police allege the woman began shouting obscenities at police in slurred speech, while stumbling around a parking lot.

Police arrested the suspect and held her in custody until she was sober.

She’s charged with being intoxicated in a public place.

In another case of public intoxication, CK police say they went to a Wallaceburg apartment complex around 6pm Saturday.

There they say they found a man passed out drunk in the hallway.

Police arrested the man, and he too was held until sober.
