Police Briefs – Friday April 22, 2016

Chatham-Kent police were busy responding to a trio of two-vehicle crashes on Thursday.

Minor injuries were reported a crash Lorne Ave. near Raleigh St. in Chatham shortly after 9am. Total damage is pegged at $15,000.

A 58-year-old woman is charged with disobeying a stop sign.

Officers were then called to a two-vehicle crash on Lorne Ave. between Wall St. and Brander Ave. just before 11am.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with failing to yield. No one was hurt and damage is estimated at $4,000.

Then in Tilbury, a 51-year-old man was charged in a crash on Mill St. E near Queen St. around 2pm. Damage is pegged at $6,000 and no one was hurt.


Around $2,000 worth of items are missing from an unlocked shed on Churchill St. in Chatham.

Sometime last weekend, police say a Stihl gas chainsaw, a Stihl leaf blower, a Briggs and Stratton power washer, a dark grey men’s Raleigh mountain bike, a green woman’s Raleigh mountain bike and par of a roof rack were stolen.


A Dresden man has been charged after allegedly contacting a woman he was suppose to stay away from.

Police allege the 20-year-old went to Subway on St. George St. where she worked last night.

He’s been charged with failing to comply.
