A man wanted for assaulting his girlfriend, smashing her cell phone, and breaking the windshield of her car has been arrested.

Police say the pair were out with friends in Chatham on Saturday night when they started arguing and he jumped on her car, breaking the windshield.

The 30-year-old Chatham man was taken into custody yesterday morning and charged with assault and two counts of mischief.


A 22-year-old, wanted on outstanding warrants in Thunder Bay and Waterloo, has been arrested in Chatham.

Police received a tip that the Wellesley man was in Chatham and located him on Berry St. last night around midnight.

He’s been charged with two counts of failing to comply and is in custody pending a bail hearing.


Jewellery and a red and white Milwaukee 12V drill are missing from a Chatham apartment.

Police say they were stolen during a break and enter on Wilson Ave. sometime between March 28 and April 17.


A Windsor man has been charged after he was caught speeding on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.

OPP clocked the 38-year-old driving 177 km/hr in the westbound lanes near Bloomfield Rd. on AprilĀ 17.

The driver then pulled off the highway in an attempt to evade police but officers quickly tracked him down.
