Police have made an arrest in a theft that saw liquor stolen from an LCBO store in Chatham.

Back on February 5th, a man stole two 60oz bottles of Crown Royal worth $120 from the LCBO on Wellington St.

A 23-year-old was arrested yesterday and charged with theft, and possession of stolen property.

A domestic incident has landed a Chatham man behind bars.

Police say a man went to his ex-girlfriend’s home around 5:30pm yesterday and damaged her car.

The woman alleges the suspect assaulted her earlier in the month, and he is bound by conditions not to communicate with her. While talking to officers, she also received threatening text messages from him.

The 26-year-old was arrested just before 11pm last night. He’s charged with mischief, assault causing bodily harm, two counts of uttering threats, and four counts of breach of probation.

A 24-year-old Chatham man has been charged following an alleged domestic incident.

Police say a woman called police claiming her ex-boyfriend assaulted her last night, and damaged her cell phone and apartment door.

Further investigation revealed that it was not the first time this had happened.

The suspect was located about an hour later and charged with assault with a weapon, two counts of assault, and four counts of mischief.

Brandishing a knife has landed a Chatham teen in trouble with police.

Around 5:30pm Saturday evening, police say the teen was with a group of friends in the area of Merritt Ave. and Crystal Dr. when he pulled a knife out of his pocket.

He allegedly held the knife up against a boy’s neck, then did the same thing to another boy.

The 15-year-old was arrested last night and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon.

Minor injuries were reported after a two-vehicle crash in Chatham.

Police say the accident happened around 4:15pm on Sunday on Poplar St. near Sheldon Ave.

Damage is estimated at $8,000. A 54-year-old Chatham man is charged with failing to obey a stop sign.
