A Chatham man, wanted for allegedly stealing a $700 bicycle back in September, has been arrested.

Police say a man was seen stealing the Schwinn bicycle from a home on Sandys St. back on September 23.

Officers identified a suspect and issued a warrant.

Last night, the suspect was located and charged with theft and possession of stolen property.


Allegedly failing to show up for court has landed a Chatham man back in police custody.

Back on July 31, the 28-year-old was charged with three counts of drug possession and released with a future court date.

Police issued a warrant for his arrest on October 15 after he didn’t attend his court date.

Officers arrested the man just before 5am on Wednesday. He’s in custody pending a bail hearing.


A 48-year-old man is facing charges after police allegedly found him passed out near Dover St. in Chatham.

Officers found the man around 5:10pm yesterday in a grassy area. He was unable to care for himself and was taken into custody.

He’s charged with being intoxicated in a public place and was released when sober.


Police say $5,000 worth of electronics are missing from a residence in Wallaceburg.

Police say sometime between 8am and noon yesterday, someone entered the unlocked home on McNaughton Ave.

Stolen was a 42″ Samsung TV, a Game Cube, Samsung tablet, a HP laptop, a Wii console, a Playstation 4, a surround sound box and speakers, along with various DVD’s and games.


Police are investigating after various items were stolen from a home on Princess St. S in Chatham.

The break-in happened sometime between 6pm on Monday, and 8:30am on Tuesday.
