Police Briefs – Sunday, November 15, 2015

A 54-year-old Raleigh Township man faces impaired driving charges after a traffic stop Saturday night.

Around 7:30pm, police say they saw a truck go through a red light at Keil Dr. S and Park Ave. in Chatham. They add the vehicle nearly hit another car turning left.

After stopping the vehicle, officers saw a box of wine in the car.

After breath tests showed the suspect was three times over the legal limit they arrested the driver and charged him with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.


Chatham-Kent police are also investigating a garage break-in in Chatham.

Police say sometime overnight Friday, a suspect entered a detached garage on Selkirk St.

There they took two saws and cigarettes, all valued at $1,500.
