A Petrolia man is without his licence for three days after a vehicle was seen speeding through a construction zone on Hwy. 401 in Tilbury.

Chatham-Kent OPP stopped the vehicle just before 2am this morning in the eastbound lanes near the OnRoute Service Centre.

The officer gave the driver a roadside breath test, which results in a warn range suspension.

A 51-year-old has been charged with speeding in a construction zone.


Around $300 in damage was caused during a break in at the Masonic Lodge in Chatham.

Police say sometime between October 7 and October 29, a suspect forced their way into the lodge on Wellington St. E and cut a small amount of copper tubing from the bathroom.


Five road side tests were done during a RIDE check on Kent Bridge Rd. last night.

Chatham-Kent police stopped 65 motorists and one driver was issued a three-day license suspension and ticket for failing to surrender her insurance card. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
