An Alberta man who didn’t understand the concept of a taxi has been arrested by Chatham-Kent police.

Police say early Sunday morning, an intoxicated man approached a driver on King St. in Chatham asking for a ride.

When the driver refused, police allege the man began kicking the vehicle.

A 38-year-old man from Alberta has been arrested and faces multiple charges, including being intoxicated in a public place.

Chatham-Kent police are investigating after a bike was stolen from a Chatham garage.

Police say sometime between Wednesday and Thursday of last week, someone broke into a garage on Viscount Rd. and stole a 24 speed black bicycle.

Another break and enter saw someone try to steal alcohol from the Wellington St. E LCBO in Chatham.

Police say early Sunday morning a man was seen entering the store and leaving with three bottles of vodka.

A 25-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged with break and enter and theft under $5,000.
