Police Briefs – Tuesday, September 1, 2015

A call about a suspicious man in Chatham has led to a drug arrest.

Officers located the 30-year-old on Raleigh St. and found he was in possession of a suspected controlled substance.

He was arrested and is being held for a bail hearing.

Police are investigating after electronics were taken from a residence during a break and enter on Orchard Heights Dr. in Chatham.

Police are also looking into a break and enter on William St. S. Multiple electronic devices were taken sometime late yesterday afternoon.

A 29-year-old Chatham woman is facing numerous charges after a cell phone was stolen.

Police charged the woman with theft and additional charges in connection to a previous incident.

The stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner.

90 vehicles were checked in the last 24 hours as the Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted numerous spot RIDE checks across the municipality.

No related offences or infractions were reported.
