Police Briefs – Monday, August 10, 2015

$15,000 dollars worth of tools are missing from an unlocked garage in Raleigh Township.

The tools were take from the Queens Line garage sometime between August 3rd and 9th.

Meanwhile, $4,000 worth of tools, electronics and cash were taken from an unlocked home on Princess St. N in Chatham.

Police say that theft happened sometime between 8am and 5pm last Wednesday.

A Cambridge man has been charged after he was stopped by Chatham-Kent OPP.

Police say the 29-year-old was over the legal limit when they stopped him at a RIDE check on Hwy 40 at Longwoods Rd. just before midnight on Saturday.

A 36-year-old man has been charged after breaking into a garage on Ottawa Dr. in Chatham.

Police say the homeowner spotted the man in his garage around 11:15pm on Monday night.

The suspect fled on foot, but the homeowner followed and was able to give officers a description. He was taken in to custody on Northland Dr. near McNaughton Ave. W.

A domestic incident has landed a Chatham man with assault charges.

Just before 6pm last night, the man and his girlfriend were arguing at her home when he grabbed her cellphone and went to leave.

The suspect allegedly grabbed her arm and pulled her to the ground when she tried to take her phone back.

The 22-year-old fled the scene but was arrested by police a short time later.
