Police Briefs – Sunday, August 9, 2015

Chatham-Kent police had to chase down a stolen truck in Wallaceburg early Sunday morning.

Police say around 4am, officers responded to a call about a pickup truck being stolen on Arnold Rd.

Police pursued the stolen vehicle to a bean field on Poplar St.

They found the truck abandoned with no damage sustained.


Chatham-Kent police also arrested a suspected drunk driver.

Officers say while on patrol around 2am Sunday, they noticed a vehicle strike a curb and drive in an unusual manner in Chatham.

Police stopped the car and took the driver to headquarters, where he allegedly refused breathalyzer tests.

A 34-year-old man is charged with impaired operation, refuse to breath demand and drive while under suspension.
