Police Briefs – Saturday, August 1, 2015

A rough night for a 22-year-old man only got worse after being brought to police headquarters.

It started when Chatham-Kent police conducted a traffic stop on Brock St. in Chatham.

Police determined the driver was impaired. The suspect was brought back to police headquarters, where officers say he refused to provide a breath sample and uttered personal threats.

After allegedly finding a controlled substance on his person, police laid a lengthy list of charges

CK police also arrested a man prohibited from driving.

Police officials say they spotted a man operating a car in the Blenheim area, whom they suspected was not allowed to drive, and promptly arrested a 27-year-old man.

A 19-year-old is arrested after a break in on Richmond St. in Chatham.

Through investigation police learned the suspect breached his conditions by attending the address, then removed multiple items from the home.

The 19-year-old is charged with theft, and breach of release conditions.

Police also charged two other drivers for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

The separate incidents happened to a 51-year-old on a motorized scooter, and to a 58-year-old on Richmond St. in Chatham.
