Police Briefs – Saturday, July 25, 2015

Chatham-Kent police say a man nearly hit a pedestrian while driving a lawnmower Friday.

Around 9:30pm, police got a tip about an impaired man driving an industrial sized lawnmower on Stanley St. in Chatham.

Police arrested a Chatham man in connection to the incident.

He’s charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol content¬†above the legal limit.

A Chatham youth faces charges after assaulting a Chatham-Kent police officer Saturday morning.

Police say around 2:30am, a youth exited a car police had pulled over and began assaulting the officer after a confrontation. He’s charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

Police also arrested a man who had outstanding warrants. The suspect was located on Park St. in Chatham around 9am Friday.
