Police Briefs – Monday, May 25, 2015

Two Windsor residents face possession of marijuana charges after Chatham-Kent OPP stopped a speeding vehicle on Hwy. 401.
A small amount of suspected marijuana was found after the traffic stop just after 11:30pm last night.
A 27-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were charged. The man also faces a speeding charge.


A 36-year-old Hamilton man is without driving privileges after Chatham-Kent OPP recorded a westbound SUV travelling at 157 km/h.

The Mercedes vehicle was seen by a patrolling officer on Hwy. 401 near Victoria Rd. around 9pm Friday.


Police are looking for information after ten signs and a large wood carving were damaged along a nature trail in Mitchell’s Bay.

Police say it happened sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning. Damage is pegged at $1,500.


A Chatham man has been charged with failing to comply after violating his bail conditions.

The 46-year-old was to sign-in at police headquarters between 8am-4pm every Sunday.

Last week, police say he received a warning for being late, and when he showed up an hour and a half late yesterday, he was taken into custody.
