Police Briefs – Saturday, May 16, 2015

A Chatham woman faces drug charges after Police came across her early Saturday morning.

Chatham-Kent police say they stopped a suspect while she was riding a bike on Park St.

After finding out the woman was breaching a court-issued curfew, they also found a small amount of crystal meth during a search.

A 35-year-old Chatham woman has been released from custody pending a future court date.


A Friday night domestic dispute has lead to charges for a Chatham man.

Police say around 9:40pm a couple got into an argument at their Raleigh St. residence.

The woman packed some belongings and began to leave, when the man followed her and struck her.

There were no injuries. Now a 30-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault and is being held pending a bail hearing.


Chatham-Kent police are searching for a break and enter suspect.

Between 2:30 and 5pm Friday, Police say unknown suspects broke into a Riverview Dr. home in Chatham.

There they stole a flatscreen tv and jewelry.

Chatham-Kent Police let a Ridetown man sleep off a night of drinking Saturday morning.

Police say around 3:45 they witnessed a man wandering Main St. E in Ridgetown who was noticeably intoxicated.

Officers felt the man could not care for himself, and arrested the man for being intoxicated in a public place.

He was held in custody until sober, and was released with a fine.
