Maroons fall 3-2 against Vipers

The Chatham Maroons came up short in an away game against the LaSalle Vipers with a 3-2 loss in overtime on Wednesday.

LaSalle and Chatham spent most of the first period warming up before the Vipers opened the scoring with the first and only goal 17:55 into the first period.

Heading into second, LaSalle secured a second goal before forward Cameron Welch responded for the Maroons with the team's first goal with an assist from Cameron Symons.

Throughout the remainder of the second period and most of third, players from both teams struggled to get on the board again and spent time in the penalty box.

Maroons skater Dylan Glinski then decided to tie things up 2-2 at 13:16 into third. The Maroons continued to aggressively defend their net forcing the game into overtime.

Chatham fell short when LaSalle sealed their victory with the game winner 3:06 in the first overtime.

Maroons goaltender Luka Dobrich made 31 saves out of 34 shots on net.

Chatham will be back home this weekend playing the Leamington Flyers on Saturday. Puck drop for that game is set for 2:00 p.m.
