Maroons look to bounce back from two OT losses

The Chatham Maroons are on the road again Saturday night with another chance to solidify their playoff position.

The Maroons will clinch at least fifth place in the standings with a win or an overtime loss against the Rockets in Strathroy on Saturday.

The Rockets trail Chatham by eight points and are clinging onto a very slim chance of leap-frogging the Maroons for fifth place.

In order for that to happen, Strathroy would need to win each of its four remaining games with the Maroons losing out in regulation for the rest of their regular-season schedule.

The two teams have met five times so far during the regular season with Chatham taking at least one point away from each of those contests -- the Maroons won three of their five games against the Rockets in regulation, while Strathroy won the other two in OT.

Chatham is also riding a five-game point streak with three wins followed by a pair of overtime losses against the Sarnia Legionnaires. The Rockets, meantime, have struggled a bit lately -- losing seven of their last 10 games.

You can hear tonight’s game on-air on Country 92.9FM / 630 AM CFCO or online by clicking here.

Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
