Jr. hockey wrap-up – January 30, 2019

The Wheatley Sharks closed out their PJHL regular season with a 6-2 win over the Blenheim Blades.

Dawson Iles led the Sharks with two goals, while Dede Cato and Will Tetzlaff scored for the Blades.

Blenheim is in sixth place in the standings, while Wheatley is just behind them in seventh.

The Lakeshore Canadiens continue to climb the Junior C standings thanks to a 6-2 victory over the Wallaceburg Lakers.

Jake Nimmo had two goals for the Canadiens, while the Lakers were led by Matt Tourigny who scored twice.

Lakeshore is just two points out of third place, and three points out of second with two games remaining.

Wallaceburg wraps up their season Friday night in Lakeshore.

In the GOJHL, the LaSalle Vipers doubled up the St. Marys Lincolns 6-3.

The Vipers were led by Evan Ferguson, who scored twice.

LaSalle is currently in fifth place in the Western Conference and is back in action Thursday night when they play the Maroons in Chatham.

The London Nationals downed the Sarnia Legionnaires 9-3.

Cal Davis had a hat trick and added three assists for the first place Nationals.

London is now off until Wednesday, February 5th, when they host St. Marys.
