Vipers Take Down Maroons In LaSalle

Wednesday nights at the Vollmer Recreation Complex in LaSalle have not been kind to the Chatham Maroons this season.

The team lost for the third time there Wednesday night by a score of 4-1. During those three losses, the Maroons have been outscored in LaSalle by a total of 17-7.

The Vipers took a 2-0 lead in the second period after neither team could find the back of the net in the first. Maroons captain Noah Bushnell pulled Chatham back within one goal at the end of the second, but the Maroons couldn't find an equalizer in the third.

"We battled and we worked hard, but we broke down defensively a few times and it really cost us," says Bushnell. "We came to work and we didn't get it today."

Eric Kirby scored a powerplay goal early in the third period to restore a two goal lead for LaSalle before the Vipers' leading scorer, Manny Silverio, sealed the 4-1 win with his 17th goal of the season.

The Chatham Maroons' next game is in Strathroy Saturday night. You can hear that game on on Country 92.9FM / 630AM CFCO or online by clicking here. Puck drop is set for 7:30pm Saturday.

The Vipers will get a couple of days off to rest up before they head to Chatham on Sunday to face the Maroons again.
