Maroons Dominate Strathroy 14-0

Dane Johnstone's hat trick was only a small part of the Chatham Maroons' efforts Sunday night.

The hat trick was just three of the 14 goals in the Maroons' dominant 14-0 shutout of the Strathroy Rockets at Chatham Memorial Arena.

Jordan Frasca had two goals while nine other Maroons players scored one. Frasca led the Maroons in total points on the night with six.

Chatham took a 4-0 lead in the first period alone, with goals scored in order by Jake O'Donnell, Josh King, Noah Bushnell and Dakota Bohn. Bohn also had two assists in the opening frame alone.

The onslaught continued in the second stanza with four more goals, from Eric Carter, Johnstone, Frasca and Bryce Yetman.

Six more goals from the Maroons came in the final frame. In addition to two more from Johnstone to complete the hat trick, Frasca found the net again. Joshua Maine, Steven Fowler and Alexi Saliba were the remaining goal scorers.

Ryan Wagner stopped all 32 Strathroy shots in goal for Chatham. Zach Weir was pulled after the first period for Joshua Diamond. Together they saved 37 out of 51 Maroon shots.

Strathroy will try to bounce back at LaSalle Wednesday night.

The Maroons head to Leamington Thursday. Puck drop is at 7:10pm and you can hear all the action on CFCO Country 92.9FM/AM 630.
