Maroons & Blades Both Win

The Chatham Maroons won a high-scoring affair in their third pre-season game of the year.

They beat the St. Thomas Stars 7-5 at Memorial Arena Tuesday night.

Dakota Bohn led the way for Chatham, scoring two goals and adding an assist.

Maroons goalie Nolan Hakr got credited with the win even though Jax D'Hondt did most of the work. Hakr only faced five shots, allowing two goals in about 30 minutes of work -- D'Hont made 20 saves on 23 shots while manning the crease for the other half of the game.

There were plenty of penalties in the game, too.

Maroons defencemen Cory Bussing and Aaron Jacobs both got game misconducts for hits to the head while their teammate Eric Carter got five minutes for fighting and a game misconduct for a dust-up with Stars player Sebastian Nogueira -- he also got tossed from the game.

In total, the Maroons racked up 38 penalty minutes.

Chatham's fourth and final pre-season game is set for Thursday, September 1 at 7pm at Chatham Memorial Arena. They'll host the Sarnia Legionnaires.

In Jr. C pre-season play, Blenheim beat Lakeshore 3-2.
