Vipers Coach Also With Spits

LaSalle Viper's head coach will now also be the Windsor Spitfires VP of hockey operations.

Bill Bowler played for the Spits from 1991-95 and also served as the team's assistant coach from 2005-07.

"It's just something I think I can help, I can learn with Bob (Boughner's departure as head coach), I think they just needed another set of eyes or a different opinion here when it comes to player transactions, trades," says Bowler.

Since Bowler will be staying on as the Viper's head coach, Spitfires General Manager Warren Rychel isn't worried about splitting time between both teams.

"He'll manage the time slots very well," says Rychel. "We play Thursday nights, Vipers play Wednesday nights. He's a pretty busy guy, but everyone in hockey is busy."

Bowler played nine professional seasons in the IHL, AHL, NHL and in Europe.
