The Essex 73’s beat Port Hope 4-3 to take a 2-1 series lead in the Schmalz Cup final.

Matthew Herbert’s second goal of the game in the third period would prove to be the game winner for Essex.

Phil Janikowski and Brad Carroll scored the 73’s other goals.

Game four goes Saturday, April 25th back in Port Hope.
