Flyers Open Playoffs Against Predators

The head coach of the Leamington Flyers thinks it's going to be an exciting playoff series against the Lambton Shores Predators.

The Flyers host game one of their Jr.B hockey first-round playoff series starting at 7pm Thursday night.

Tony Piroski says the Predators have a number of players that could match anybody in the league, so the challenge will be to shut those players down early on. "What we have, that they don't have, is depth," he says. "After that six or seven players I think they fall off pretty good."

The Flyers are the number one seed in the league, and the Predators are seeded eighth, so Piroski says another challenge is staying focused and not get too confident. "In this league there's a lot of upsets, especially in the first round and anybody could beat anybody else on any given night."

In the GOHJL playoffs, the Amherstburg Admirals play game five against the Blenheim Blades at 7pm in Amherstburg. The Admirals lead that series 3-1.
