Noise complaint lands man in trouble with the law

A 67-year-old man spent some time sobering up in police custody on Wednesday after police picked him up in Ridgetown.

Chatham-Kent police said they found the man when they were responding to a noise complaint just before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on Main Street in Ridgetown.

Officers said the man was allegedly intoxicated to the point where he was unable to care for himself, so was arrested and taken to police headquarters until he was sober.

Wanted woman arrested in Wheatley

The law has come calling for a 38-year-old Leamington woman wanted for assault, uttering threats, and mischief charges.

Police said they found her while they were responding to a call about a disturbance on Erie Street South in Wheatley at around 7:42 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers said when they found the woman, they confirmed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant and took her into custody.

She was taken back to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Blenheim man booked for impaired driving

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged with impaired driving after he was stopped on Anger Street in Blenheim early Thursday morning.

Police said the officer who spoke with the driver believed the man was operating the vehicle while impaired and also learned that the man had been before the court with other impaired driving charges from two previous incidents.

The driver was arrested and charged with having a blood alcohol level over the legal limit and was taken to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.
