Tickets on sale now for 50/50 FUNdraiser

A popular fundraiser for the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) is back.

Tickets for the Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser, sponsored by MCH Homes, went on sale Wednesday morning at 7 a.m.

In 2022, $253,680 came in through ticket sales, with the winner, Mike Veres of Chatham and his wife Wendy taking home $126,840 and the rest going to the CKHAF.

"Since launching this 50/50 back in 2019, we’ve been absolutely blown away by the overwhelming support that it has received from across Chatham-Kent every single year," says Mary Lou Crowley, President and CEO of CKHAF.

New this year is three early bird draws. The first draw for $1,000 cash will take place on Friday, June 2, the second draw for a Broil King Keg Charcoal Smoker/BBQ will take place on Friday, June 16, and the third draw for a Pelican Magna 100 Packaged 1-Person Kayak will take place on Friday, June 30.

Anyone who purchases a ticket before 2 p.m. on these draw dates will be automatically entered into the early bird draws, and the winners will still be eligible to win the 50/50 jackpot.

The grand prize draw will take place on Wednesday, July 12 at 1 p.m.

All of the proceeds from this year's fundraiser will go towards the purchase of a Sterrad Unit for the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA).

"The new Sterrad Unit will be used to sterilize medical equipment and, as a result, it will serve all patients that visit the hospital for any type of procedure," said Bob Hockney, Chair of the CKHAF Board of Directors.

The cost is 10 numbers for $10, 60 for $20, 200 for $50 or 350 for $75. Tickets can be purchased in person at the CKHAF office at 9 Ursuline Ave. in Chatham, or online at www.ignite5050.ca. Volunteers will also be selling tickets in-person at different events and locations across Chatham-Kent until July 12th.

Tickets can only be purchased by Ontario residents over 18 years of age.
