Here's what's open and closed in Chatham-Kent on Victoria Day

The Victoria Day weekend is upon us.

Considered by many as the unofficial start to the summer season, Chatham-Kent is forecast to have some warm and dry stretches of weather this weekend, despite a rainy start.

On Monday, many people will have the day off and some businesses and agencies will also be closed throughout the community for the holiday.

All libraries in Chatham-Kent will be closed on Monday with regular hours returning on Tuesday. The same goes for municipal offices.

Any residents who need to get around on Monday might have to find alternate modes of transportation with all Ride CK services not operating on May 23.

Garbage and recycling collection services will be delayed by one day for the whole week of May 23 as a result of the holiday.

The Harwich and Wallaceburg Transfer Stations will be closed on the holiday Monday while all other transfer stations will be open regular hours.  All Leaf and Yard Depots will be closed Monday.

The emergency departments at both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be open as usual, 24 hours a day. Chatham-Kent police, fire, and ambulances will also remain operational 24 hours a day.

Entegrus and Public Utilities Commission will be closed, but for emergencies on Monday, the number to call is 519-352-6300.

Reception and administrative offices at Riverview Gardens will be closed on Monday, but services, activities, and visiting hours continue as normal. Nursing staff can be reached 24/7 by calling 519-352-4823.

The Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary and Wallaceburg Sydenham pools are closed as are all arenas throughout Chatham-Kent.

All LCBO stores will be closed for the holiday, but select Beer Stores will be open.

The Beer Store on Richmond Street in Chatham will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Victoria Day.
