Arrests made on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent police located two people on Saturday night who were each wanted in connection to previous incidents.

One of the accused was found on St. Clair Street - a 26-year-old man wanted on multiple warrants. Police say he was arrested, booked, and held for a bail hearing.

The second person, a 53-year-old man, was located near a business on King Street West. He was arrested on the strength of his warrant, taken to police headquarters, and held pending a bail hearing.

Traffic complaint leads to impaired charge

A 42-year-old Leamington man was found to be over the legal limit while driving through Chatham-Kent on Saturday night, according to police.

Police say a traffic complaint came in from the area of Queens Line on Saturday night. A vehicle was stopped and through investigation, the officer allegedly found reason to believe the driver was impaired by alcohol.

The suspect was taken to the local Ontario Provincial Police detachment for breath tests. Police said the man was then charged with having a blood concentration over the legal limit and held for a bail hearing.

Man sobers up at CK Police Headquarters

Police found a man near downtown Chatham early Sunday morning who was reportedly showing serious signs of intoxication.

The man was found on King Street West. Police said he was unable to care for himself.

The 23-year-old was arrested for public intoxication. Police say he was transported to police headquarters and held until he sobered up.

Attempted murder charge laid after downtown shooting

A 25-year-old man was arrested after a shooting at King Street West and Fifth Street that sent one person to hospital.
