Parade of Chefs fundraiser returns

After a three-year hiatus, a popular fundraiser for the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) returns this fall.

The 18th Annual Parade of Chefs, presented by Precise ParkLink is coming to the Chatham Armoury on Thursday, September 28.

The theme is "A Royal Affair with Local Flair" and is inspired by the celebrity host.

"We are delighted to have Darren McGrady here," said Mary Lou Crowley, President and CEO of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation. "He has served as the personal chef of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Lady Di, and of course, Prince William and Harry for many years, 15 years to be exact."

Chef Darren will share firsthand insights and anecdotes about his time spent with the royal family, and Crowley said he will also curate the menu for the evening's four-course dining experience.

"It's an event where we bring together chefs from different restaurants across Chatham-Kent, and we deliver an elegant , scrumptious dinner for our guests this year," she said.

Local physicians will serve as the Royal Butler Wine Servers, and all of the money raised will go to buy an ORTHO VISION Swift Analyzer

"For the Laboratory Transfusion Medical Department," said Crowley. "The lab really touches everyone that comes into the hospital is one way or another, so I think this piece of equipment will certainly be something that we can all rally upon and know how important it is."

Tickets are $225 each and can be purchased online at www.ckhaf.ca, over the phone by calling 519-436-2538, or in person at the Foundation office at 9 Ursuline Avenue in Chatham.
