Chatham-Kent police investigate two separate break-ins 

Police in Chatham-Kent are investigating two separate break-ins in the city.

The first occurred at an residence in the Forest Street area in Chatham on Saturday.

Police responded to the call and learned that several items worth approximately $4,900 were stolen.

The second call came in around 12 p.m. on Saturday after a residence in the William Street area was broken into.

Police said their investigation revealed that a bicycle and some liquor was stolen.

Chatham man arrested for bail violations 

A 22-year-old Chatham man is in more trouble with police after he was located at residence he was legally not allowed to be at.

Police were called to an address on Joseph Street at around 12 p.m. on Saturday in regards for a bail violation complaint.

Officers arrested the man for failing to comply with his release conditions.

While he being searched, police found the man to be in possession of a dagger.

The 22-year-old was arrested and charged with three counts of failure to comply with release order.

He was transported to police headquarters and lodged for a bail hearing.
