McGeachy-Schultz named Citizen of the Year in CK

A well known community booster is being recognized as Citizen of the Year by the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce.

Lynn McGeachy-Shultz will be honoured posthumously at the 135th Business Excellence Awards on April 13, 2023 at the Everest Convention Centre in Chatham.

Most recently, McGeachy-Schultz was the project coordinator for the Chatham-Kent Animal Shelter, but was passionate about many other projects across the municipality.

McGeachy-Schultz was also instrumental in the construction of many expansion projects at St. Clair College's Thames Campus, including the HealthPlex, the Residence, the Mary Uniac Nursing Centre, as well as the re-opening of the Capitol Theatre in downtown Chatham.

She also sat on several boards, including the YMCA, Hospital Auxiliary, St Andrew’s Residence, Rotary, and the St. Clair College Board of Governors.

McGeachy passed away February 13, 2023.

Other chamber award recipients include AarKel Tool and Die in Wallaceburg for Large Business of the Year, Schinkel's Gourmet Meats in Chatham for Medium Business of the Year, and CK Tubs & Taps in Chatham for Small Business of the Year.
