Man severely injured after assault in Tilbury

A 20-year-old woman from Tilbury is facing an aggravated assault charge after an altercation over the weekend that left a man with severe injuries.
Shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday, Chatham-Kent police were called to a domestic disturbance on Mill Street in Tilbury.
When officers arrived, they located a man who had sustained severe injuries and was receiving assistance from concerned citizens. The man was transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
Through investigation, police learned the man and the woman engaged in a verbal argument that escalated when the woman allegedly threatened the man with a knife. A physical altercation then ensued, resulting in the man being injured.
As a result, the woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing. The woman was remanded into custody until a future court date.
