Local woman out on bail land back in police custody

A 25-year-old Chatham woman is in more trouble with the law after a call to police about a suspicious vehicle led to her arrest.

Chatham-Kent police say they were called to the area of St. Clair Street in Chatham on Thursday for a report of two females who were in a vehicle and appeared to be unresponsive.

When police arrived, the driver took off.

Officers found a 25-year-old Chatham woman a short distance from the scene, though.

She was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with her release order and she also allegedly had some illegal drugs in her possession, so she was charged for that as well.

After she was arrested and charged, the woman was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
