Chatham-Kent police take impaired drivers off the road 

A 32-year-old Chatham man faces an impaired driving charge after a single-vehicle collision in Chatham.

Police said the driver was determined to be intoxicated by the responding officers.

The accused was arrested and taken to police headquarters for further testing.

He was charged and released with a future court date.

A 27-year-old woman is facing an impaired driving charge after getting her vehicle stuck on rail tracks in Chatham on Saturday.

Police  said the woman was driving on William Street South in Chatham when she mistook the tracks for a road and turned onto them and became stuck.

Officers responded to remove the vehicle and determined the woman to be intoxicated by alcohol.

She was arrested and taken to police headquarters to provide breath samples which resulted in her exceeding the legal limit.

The woman was charged and released with a future court date.
