London man arrested after robbery in CK, hit-and-run at Dutton OnRoute

A 38-year-old London man is facing charges after someone was allegedly robbed in Tilbury.

Chatham-Kent police said their investigation started just after 3 a.m. Thursday when someone notified them of a robbery on Mable Street.

Officers were told that two men entered the victim's home, held him down, and assaulted him before taking off with several items including his cell phone, wallet, computer, Xbox, and the vehicle parked in the driveway.

Investigators were able to pinpoint the suspects' location and direction they were travelling by using cell phone tracking.

OPP managed to find the vehicle at the OnRoute Service Centre in Dutton, as previously reported by CK News Today, but when police tried to confront the occupants of the vehicle, the driver hit a marked police cruiser and took off.

No injuries were reported and the vehicle was found abandoned on Pioneer Line in Dutton-Dunwich.

OPP were able to track down one of the suspects after calling in their Canine Unit and took him into custody without incident.

The 38-year-old London man was handed over to Chatham-Kent police and was charged with breaking and entering and robbery.

Police are still looking for a second suspect, but they did examine the scene and collected some evidence for forensic analysis.

Officers said they believe the robbery was "an isolated incident," adding that there is "no concern for public safety."
