Teen charged with assaulting his mom

A 17-year-old Chatham youth is facing an assault charge after he allegedly hit his mom during an argument Thursday evening.

Police said they were called to the scene on Blythewood Crescent in Chatham just before 6 p.m. on Thursday and learned that the boy had allegedly assaulted his mother, causing minor physical injuries.

The youth was arrested, charged, and later released to a family member with conditions and a future court date.

Chatham man arrested after severely attacking woman

Chatham-Kent police have caught up with a 32-year-old man who was wanted in connection with a brutal assault in December last year.

Police said their investigation started on December 7, 2022 when they learned that a man had allegedly assaulted a woman several times, causing multiple severe injuries to her.

Officers looked for him, but they couldn't track him down right away, so they got a warrant for his arrest.

Police got a tip just after 9 a.m. Thursday about where the man was, so they showed up at that location and arrested him.

The accused was taken to police headquarters and charged with two counts each of assault and assault causing bodily harm along with one count of uttering death threats.

He was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

Man wanted by OPP picked up by CK police in Wallaceburg

An afternoon stroll on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg ended up being a wanted man's undoing on Thursday.

CK police said they arrested the man at around 4 p.m. after learning that he was wanted on eight outstanding warrants held by the OPP.

Half an hour later, the 30-year-old Wallaceburg man was turned over to Lambton OPP.

Blenheim man booked for breaching probation

Chatham-Kent police also managed to cross another name off of their own wanted list early Friday morning after Chatham OPP arrested a 27-year-old Blenheim man.

CK police said OPP notified them that they had the man in their custody and learned that he had been wanted by the municipal police service on an outstanding warrant.

He was taken to CK police headquarters and charged with breaching his probation, then later released with conditions and a future court date.
