Tilbury man charged after fabricating a story to police in order to avoid arrest 

A 51-year-old Tilbury man faces charges after he allegedly fabricated a story to police in order to avoid being arrested for failing to remain at a collision.

Officers said the man called police and told them his pickup truck, which had been involved in a fail-to-remain collision, had been stolen.

Investigators learned the man had been lying about the vehicle and it is alleged that he fabricated the whole story.

The man was arrested on Friday and now faces charges of public mischief, failing to remain at a collision, and careless driving.

He was released from police custody with a future court date.

Traffic stop results in arrest for 30-year-old Chatham man

A 30-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after he was stopped by police while driving a vehicle with stolen plates.

The man was arrested Friday after he was stopped by police in Chatham. Officers also learned the man was also driving a car even though he was prohibited from doing so.

His vehicle was impounded for 45 days and he was released with a future court date.

Police check off another name from their wanted list 

A 28-year-old man spent some time in police custody Friday after he was found with an outstanding warrant for breaching his probation order.

Police said they were investigating a criminal matter at the time when they located the man.

He was arrested and later released with a future court date.
