Police looking for trio who stole a safe from Chatham Tim Horton's

Chatham-Kent police are putting out a call for tips from the public as they try to track down three suspects who stole a safe from a Tim Horton's restaurant in Chatham.

Police have also released some photos and some suspect descriptions in order to help with the search.

Officers said the break-in took place at the Tim Horton's at 452 St. Clair Street in Chatham, just north of Oxley Street, sometime between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. on January 30, 2023.

Investigators said two people broke into the restaurant and took the safe to the door and then a third individual showed up to help remove it the rest of the way.

The first suspect is described as a male of average height and average build. He was last seen wearing a two-tone winter coat. The upper third of teh coat is dark and has a dark hood, possibly black. The lower 2/3 of the coat is lighter in colour, possibly grey. He was also wearing dark pants and shoes, a purple hoodie, and a ball cap.

The second suspect is also described as male, but with a shorter, stockier build than average. He was last seen wearing a light grey or blue coat with blue jeans and white running/skateboarder shoes -- possibly DC or Vans shoes with a black symbol on the outer side.

The third suspect wore a dark coat with a fur hood and also wore a black face mask.
