Woman arrested for stealing from Chatham Walmart

A 24-year-old Wallaceburg woman is facing a pair of charges after she allegedly walked out of the Walmart in Chatham with a full cart of merchandise without paying for any of it.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the store on St. Clair Street just before noon on Tuesday for a theft complaint and were also given some descriptions of the woman and her vehicle.

Officers were able to identify a suspect and found her just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

She was charged with theft and possession of stolen property and was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested in Wallaceburg break-in

A 25-year-old Walpole Island man is facing a break and enter charge after police found him at the scene of a break-in at a business on Selkirk Street in Wallaceburg.

Police said that was just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, adding that they confirmed a window had been broken at the business.

The accused was arrested, charged, and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Woman arrested after disturbance at Chatham Tim Horton's

A 30-year-old Chatham woman was charged with public intoxication after police were called in for a disturbance at the Tim Horton's on Third Street in Chatham Tuesday night.

Police said they were called to the restaurant at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday and arrested the woman, who officers said was intoxicated when they found her.

She was charged, issued a Provincial Offence Notice, and released.
