CK Public Health hosting catch up immunization clinics

Getting children's immunization records up to date has just been made even easier for parents across Chatham-Kent.

CK Public Health will be hosting several clinics throughout the month of February, as well as in early March.

According to local health officials, over 2,800 elementary students and 1,500 high school students need to update their vaccination records in Chatham-Kent.

"Any students who do not have updated immunizations or have not submitted an exemption will receive a suspension order from CK Public Health," read a statement from the municipality. "Immunization information needs to be updated before March 7, 2023 to avoid suspension."

Upcoming clinics will be hosted in the front room of the WISH Centre, located at 177 King Street East, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The following dates for clinics at the WISH Centre include February 7, 14, 22, 27, and 28, as well as March 1, 2, 3, and 6.

CK Public Health Clinic Services will also be hosting clinics on February 9, 16, and 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We do have a number of local students who are not up to date or maybe who are up to date, but their parents haven’t yet reported their immunizations," said CK Public Health Program Manager Carina Caryn. “If you require an appointment with us, please call us soon as spaces are filling up quickly.”

Parents are encouraged to contact their healthcare provider to get their outstanding immunizations and report this information to CK Public Health as soon as possible.

Those in need of the Meningococcal vaccine can call CK Public Health.

Those looking to report their child’s immunizations or make an appointment can do so online or by calling 519-352-7270, extension 2457.
