Queen's Line crash claims Windsor man's life

A crash on Queen's Line between Chatham and Tilbury Tuesday morning has taken a tragic turn.

Chatham-Kent police said a Windsor man who was involved in the collision has died from his injuries.

Police said he was heading west on Queens Line just west of McDougall Line at 6:38 a.m. Tuesday when the brown Nissan vehicle he was driving crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a white Cadillac that was heading east.

Both of the vehicles ended up on the south side of the road and police shut down a section of Queen's Line for several hours Tuesday for the investigation and to clear the road.

Police said the Windsor man was pulled out of his vehicle after the crash and medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but they were unsuccessful. He died from his injuries.

The Chatham man driving the Cadillac was taken to the hospital and treated for severe but non life-threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating the crash and they are asking for any witnesses to contact the Constable Kristen Charron at 519-355-1092 or kristenc@chatham-kent.ca.
