Two people arrested in Wallaceburg for bail violations

Two people in their 30's are in more trouble with the law after police caught them hanging out together in Wallaceburg even though they had been ordered to stay apart.

Chatham-Kent police said the officer who found them together was responding to a business on McNaughton Avenue for an unrelated matter Wednesday afternoon.

A 30-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man were both arrested for failing to comply with their release conditions.

The woman was later released with a future court date and the man was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

More bail violations

A noise complaint in downtown Chatham led police to another couple in their 30's who weren't supposed to be together.

Police said they found a man and a woman at a residence on King Street West Wednesday night when they were responding to the complaint and learned that the woman there had been released with a condition that required her to stay away from the man.

The 34-year-old woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with her release conditions and was taken to police headquarters for booking. She was then held for bail.

The 38-year-old man was arrested for being a party to an offence and he was later released with a future court date.

Traffic stop leads police to wanted man

A 36-year-old man who was wanted for breaking and entering was arrested Wednesday evening after police pulled him over in Wallaceburg.

Police said the traffic stop was on Lafontaine Street.

Officers said the driver was arrested, taken to police headquarters, and later released with a future court date.

Wanted man arrested after trespassing complaint

A trespassing complaint at a business in Chatham led police to a wanted man Wednesday night.

Police said they found the 37-year-old man, who was wanted for failing to attend court, while they were following up on the tip on St. Clair Street and arrested him.

He was later released with a future court date.
