Pair of mischief arrests in CK

Two people are facing charges after a pair of separate mischief complaints in Chatham.

Around 1:14 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to reports of mischief on Ursuline Avenue in Chatham.

According to police, a man allegedly walked up to a building and threw an object at a window, causing the window to break.

The 44-year-old Chatham man was located a short distance away and arrested. He was charged with mischief and released with a future court date

Just a few minutes later, police were called to Dufferin Avenue in Chatham for suspicious activity around a home that is currently vacant. Police learned the location had been the target of thefts.

Police arrived and located the man allegedly cutting wires from an air conditioning unit. 

 The 20-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and charged with mischief. He was released with a future court date.

Woman arrested on outstanding warrant 

Chatham-Kent police were able to catch up with a woman who was on their wanted list. 

The woman was previously identified in a theft investigation that occurred on September 21, 2022 on Longwoods Road in Zone Township.

On Thursday afternoon, police located the woman on Mary Street in Chatham and arrested her.

The 51-year-old Chatham woman was charged with theft and possession of the stolen property. She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date.

R.I.D.E. program in Thamesville

On Thursday night, officers with the Community Patrol Branch conducted a R.I.D.E program in Thamesville. 

According to police, officers checked a total of 104 vehicles.

As a result, six roadsides were administered, one three-day suspension and two Provincial Offences Notices were issued.
