Christmas Wish Trees to shine in CK

Trees at the hospitals in Wallaceburg and Chatham will light up this week for the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation's (CKHAF) 33rd annual Christmas Wish Tree Campaign.

"It's a wonderful time of year as we all know. It's those that we remember that we've lost over the past year or years in the past," said CKHAF President and CEO Mary Lou Crowley. "It's really about reflecting on those loved ones and showing them the respect. But more importantly, we come together as a community."

The Foundation's goal this year is to raise $115,000. Crowley adds that all of the money raised will go towards purchasing new warming cabinets for the hospitals in both Wallaceburg and Chatham.

"So far, we are over $102,000 in support of warming cabinets. Like it's unbelievable. The proceeds of this will support both Wallaceburg site and Chatham with those beautiful warming cabinets."

The tree lighting ceremony at the Wallaceburg site gets underway at 6 on Wednesday, December 14 at 6 p.m. The Chatham tree lighting will take place on Thursday, December 15 at 6 p.m.

Both ceremonies will be broadcast live on YourTV, and on the CKHAF's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ckhafoundation.

Donations are still being accepted. You can donate in person by stopping by the Foundation's office at 9 Ursuline Ave. in Chatham, by calling the Foundation at 519-436-2538, or online at www.ckhaf.ca.
