Chatham-Kent police catch man stunt driving in Chatham

A 26-year-old Raleigh Township man is facing charges after allegedly driving way too fast in Chatham.

Police said an officer on general patrol observed a Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed on Saturday in the area of Wellington Street.

The driver was charged with stunt driving under the highway traffic act and given a future a court date.

His vehicle was impounded for seven days, and his driver’s license was suspended for 30 days.

Police arrest two on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent police knocked two more names off their outstanding warrant list on Saturday.

The first arrest was made after police were called to an address in Chatham for a suspicious person complaint.

Police said a 20-year-old Chatham man was located and found to have an outstanding warrant.

The warrant was endorsed and the man was arrested but shortly released from the scene with a future court date.

The second arrest was made after police responded to a call for service in Chatham.

Police said a 27-year-old woman was found to have ten outstanding warrants in total, several being unendorsed.

The woman was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
