St. Andrew's Church celebrates Christmas with weekend concert

St. Andrew's Church is set to deliver some holiday cheer with a Christmas concert this weekend in Chatham.

The concert, directed by St. Andrew’s Music Director Devon Hansen, features a "fa-la-la-la-la" theme as well as celebrates the spirit of Christmas.

"The highlight of the program will be a dramatic reading of The Polar Express with orchestra, choir, and narration," said Spokesperson Mary Alice Marchand. "It is a performance not to be missed.

The evening will feature music from the St. Andrew’s Chancel Choir, and the Chatham-Kent Orchestra. St. Andrew’s Director of Music Christine Baribeau will direct presentations by the Bel Canto Choir School.

"These choirs will form an impressive mass choir along with the Chamber Orchestra and other talented local musicians performing solos, duets, and trios will present cherished carols from the past and new renditions from today," said Marchand.

The program will include familiar Christmas music such as ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, Let It Snow, Jingle Bells and more.

Chatham's 3 Tenors - Xander Bechard, Colin Bell, and Andrew Derynck - will also be contributing to the program.

The concert will start at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 10 at the Capitol Theatre located in downtown Chatham on King Street.

Tickets are $25 and will be available from the Cultural Centre Box office on William StREET or online here.
