Two-vehicle crash leads to multiple charges 

A 26-year-old Chatham man is facing several charges after allegedly fleeing from the scene of a two-vehicle accident.

Police said they responded to the two-vehicle collision in Chatham on Friday.

One of the involved vehicles allegedly fled the scene with heavy front-end damage.

Responding officers located the suspect vehicle, which had its airbags deployed and was leaking fluids as it was driving, police said.

The suspect parked at an apartment building and allegedly fled the vehicle, leaving it running.

After a short period, the suspect returned to the vehicle and was identified by police.

The 26-year-old Chatham man was found to have a criminal driving prohibition and was arrested.

He was further charged under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act and Highway Traffic Act.

The accused was released with a court date and his vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Wallaceburg man arrested on outstanding warrants 

On Friday, a concerned citizen observed a man laying on the ground by a roadway and wanted his well-being to be checked on.

Police attended and identified the man as a 42-year-old Wallaceburg resident.

The man appeared to be intoxicated by a controlled substance, but was otherwise not in crisis, according to police.

Upon being identified, it was discovered the man had outstanding warrants with the OPP.

He was arrested and taken to OPP custody.
