Man wanted for assault turns himself in

A 24-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for allegedly knocking another man unconscious in downtown Chatham this past summer has turned himself in.

Chatham-Kent police said the man was also allegedly breaching his house arrest at the time of the altercation.

Officers said the man is accused of kicking another man in the face during a run-in at a downtown Chatham business on July 31, 2022 and then leaving the scene before police arrived. The attack allegedly knocked the victim unconscious.

Police said a warrant was issued for the man's arrest and he turned himself in at police headquarters at 7 a.m. Monday.

The accused was arrested on the outstanding warrant and set to be held pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested for assaulting woman in Chatham

A 26-year-old Windsor man is facing assault and mischief charges after he allegedly pulled a woman's hair and threw her cell phone to the ground during an argument in Chatham.

Police said they made the arrest after they were called to investigate a domestic disturbance at Trillium Village in Chatham at around 11:45 a.m. Monday.

Officers said the man accused of assaulting the woman was arrested, charged, and taken back to police headquarters. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
